Do I need to download an app? How do teachers actually use Sensay?
Welcome back to Sensay Knowledge Corner!
This series answers real questions from educators to help you get started smoothly and use Sensay effectively in your classroom.
In this episode, we’re covering two of the most essential (and frequently asked) questions 👇
❓ Q1: Do I need to download an app to use Sensay?
A: No downloads or app updates needed! Sensay is a web-based platform accessible directly through a browser (we recommend Google Chrome).
As long as teachers have internet access, they can instantly create speaking tasks, and assign them to students. Students only need the following to submit their recordings:
- A device with a browser
- An internet connection
- A built-in microphone
It’s super convenient!
❓ Q2: How do teachers use Sensay?
Every teacher uses Sensay a little differently, but here are some of the most common ways Teachers integrate Sensay into their teaching:
📌 In-class practice: Quickly create and assign speaking exercises during lessons. Great for real-time practice and active student participation.
📌 At-home practice or homework: Turn lesson topics into independent speaking assignments. Students can practice anytime, fostering consistent practice and extending the teacher’s reach beyond the classroom.
📌 Assessment and test preparation – Use Sensay’s 7 exercise types for formative or summative speaking assessments. Educators also create speaking exercises to help students prepare for exams like TOEFL, TOEIC, and more.
📌 Differentiated Group Practice – Group students by level and assign targeted speaking exercises to keep them engaged and challenged appropriately.
📌 Collaborative Co-Teaching – Share planning and tracking responsibilities with other educators using the co-teacher feature.
What teachers love most is the ability to create custom tasks, assign them to specific students, and instantly view AI-scored recordings—saving tons of time and allowing you to focus more on student progress.
