Sensay is a voice platform that analyzes speech and provides metrics such as word count, transcription, speaking speed, and pronunciation and fluency scores for each individual word.
How does Sensay work?
Sensay is a webapp that can be used on any computer, laptop, or mobile device that has a microphone. Educators can create an exercise that they want their students to respond to verbally. Students are sent a unique PIN to access the exercise, and are prompted to record their answer. It’s basically a customized micro-quiz that students can respond to verbally! Sensay’s AI then instantly analyzes that voice data response, and saves the data to a teacher dashboard.

Sensay is free to use and currently seeking beta users.
What are some ways I can use Sensay?
Schools and teachers can use Sensay to measure student learning outcomes for any subject. The exercises can be presented to students as in-class activities, or as homework.
For example, for a Grade 9 ESL lesson on the history of fortune cookies, the teacher can create a homework exercise where the question is: “Where did fortune cookies originate from?” Students can access the exercise from their home computer or mobile phone, and simply say their response instead of writing “Japan” as their answer, completing the assignment. Sensay records and automatically processes, grades, and saves for the teacher exactly what each student said and how they said it. The data is uploaded to the teacher dashboard for them to access later.
Another example is a Grade 2 Science lesson on icebergs. The teacher can create an exercise where the question is: “What is an iceberg?” At the end of class, each student is asked to say their response as part of a game before they can get a sticker. Again, Sensay records and automatically processes, grades, and saves for the teacher exactly what each student said and how they said it. The data is uploaded to the teacher dashboard for them to access later.
How secure is your platform?
Sensay does not share any audio recordings or other data with any 3rd parties. Our privacy and security standards are compliant with the highest level of personal data protection required by GDPR.
Audio files are encrypted when they are transferred (TLS) and when they are stored (AES-256). Once audio files are safely stored, they are accessible only with token-based authentication and unique links.
Users are not required to authenticate nor provide any personal identification. Users can just provide a name known only by the teacher. We do not recommend users to record any sensitive and/or personal information.
